Get to Heaven Keep the Seven

Everybody wants spirituality. To be a good person means to walk in G-d's ways. How does that translate to reality? The only guidebook to spirituality that has stood the test of time is the Hebrew Bible. The Bible says that the Jews will be a light onto the nations. But if you are not a born Jew, you have to convert, which is not so easy!! If you do convert, it is a lot of work to be a Jew (three times a day prayer, keeping kosher, observing the Sabbath).

This blog will show you how to be Jewish without the work!!

Immature thinking causes pain

Criminality and mental illness often result from a failure to challenge immature beliefs, such as: "If someone irritates or disappoints me, it must be because he has a deliberate, malicious intent to hurt me. That gives me the right to hurt back!"

Maturity means practiing self-control and learning to think: "Most people have no intention to hurt me. They simply lack the awareness and tools to control their impulses."

In today's world we are dependent on our computers to say the least. Since google restricts sending out mulitple receipient emails (since all emails are looked at as potential spam), all non profit agencies like myself have to use a server. On Friday, my server sent out my Sunday email so you got two. My apology. Please look over both Friday emails and enjoy todays.

ISRAELI RESEARCHERS FIND ENZYME IN SPERM COULD HALT METASTATIC CANCER BY JUDY SIEGEL-ITZKOVICH OCTOBER 18, 2017 17:56 Malignancies can be treated more successfully when confined to one organ, but when cancer cells spread into other parts of the body, the battle is much more difficult.

Researchers at Bar-Ilan University have identified an enzyme that supports the survival and dissemination of metastatic cancer cells, and developed a synthetic compound that targets it and kills the proliferating cells in mice.

Prof. Uri Nir, of the Faculty of Life Sciences at the university in Ramat Gan, and colleagues have just published their research in the journal Nature Communications.

Malignancies can be treated more successfully when confined to one organ, but when cancer cells spread into other parts of the body, the battle is much more difficult. Although immunotherapy can be effective in treating the metastatic phase of the disease, it is still applicable to a small number of patients.

When leaving the primary tumor, cancer cells have greater tools to survive in very harsh conditions, such as a shortage of basic nutrients such as glucose. Metastatic cells can safeguard against this metabolic deficiency by reprogramming their energy generation system.

The team found the existence of the enzyme, called FerT, in the energy-generating mitochondria of that cancer cells that they couldn't find in the mitochondria of normal cells. When they targeted the enzyme in the lab, the malignant cells failed to produce energy and died. The team then began searching for the enzyme elsewhere in the body and detected it in only one specific cell – none other than sperm cells.

Sperm cells are the only cells in the body that exert their functions outside the body. "Like metastatic cells, sperm cells are unique in that they can also generate energy under very harsh conditions. Once they have entered the female birth canal, where there is no blood supply for them, they produce and expend enormous amounts of energy under very extreme or abnormal conditions," explained Nir. "We found that very aggressive metastatic cancer cells looked for and identified this sperm-specific protein, learned how to produce it and harnessed it to increase the power of their mitochondria and produce energy under very harsh conditions. We have shown that not only do sperm initiate life, but also carry with them the potential to terminate life."

Using advanced chemical and robotic approaches, the team developed a synthetic compound that can be given orally or by injection to animals or humans. When applied to metastatic cells in culture or mice with metastatic tumor, the compound – called E260 – enters the metastatic cells and then into the mitochondria. It then binds the enzyme FerT, distorts its activity and – not only inhibits its activity, but as a result of the inhibition – causes a complete collapse of the entire mitochondria power station. They hope to pursue Phase 1 clinical trials within 18 months.

Metastatic cells are very capable, noted Nir. When they identify the damage to the mitochondria power station they start to activate a recycling process (called autophagy) aimed at decomposing and rebuilding mitochondria. This recycling process, however, requires a lot of energy and this ongoing energy consumption leads to a severe energy depletion, metabolic crisis and death of the metastatic cells. "We have treated mice with metastatic cancer, and this compound completely cured them with no adverse or toxic affect that we can see. We have also checked several normal cells and they are not affected," said Nir.

Yahya Sinwar says 'no one in the universe can disarm us,' likens belief that terror group will relinquish weapons to 'Satan dreaming of heaven'By DOV LIEBER 19 October 2017, 6:56 pm

The Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip on Thursday dismissed US and Israeli demands that it lay down its arms and recognize the Jewish state, saying the terror organization is instead debating "when to wipe out Israel."

The remarks came during a closed roundtable discussion between Yahya Sinwar and Gazan youth about the ongoing reconciliation negotiations with rival Palestinian faction Fatah, to which some media outlets were invited to attend.

"Over is the time Hamas spent discussing recognizing Israel. Now Hamas will discuss when we will wipe out Israel," Sinwar said, according to the Hamas-linked news agency Shehab.

A Hamas spokesperson released a few official quotes from the meeting. The Sinwar comment about discussing "when we will wipe out Israel" was not included in the transcript, which featured the Hamas leader again rejecting disarmament and Israel recognition.

"No one in the universe can disarm us. On the contrary, we will continue to have the power to protect our citizens," Sinwar said, according to the official statement. "No one has the ability to extract from us recognition of the occupation."

Since its inception nearly three decades ago, Hamas has sought to destroy the State of Israel.

Sinwar's comments on Thursday came as much of the international community was scrutinizing the terror organization as it attempts to join the internationally recognized government of the Palestinian Authority, which is controlled by PA President Mahmoud Abbas's party, Fatah.

On Thursday the United States called for Hamas to disarm and renounce violence before being allowed to implement the highly touted unity deal with Fatah.

"Any Palestinian government must unambiguously and explicitly commit to nonviolence, recognize the State of Israel, accept previous agreements and obligations between the parties – including to disarm terrorists – and commit to peaceful negotiations," said White House Mideast peace envoy Jason Greenblatt in a statement released by the US Embassy in Tel Aviv.

"If Hamas is to play any role in a Palestinian government, it must accept these basic requirements," Greenblatt said, in comments later commended by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

One issue that threatens to derail the reconciliation process is the question of what will be the future of Hamas's 25,000-strong military and its weapons arsenal. Abbas said he wants full control of all guns in Gaza.

On Thursday, Sinwar doubled down on Hamas's stance that it will not relinquish its armed forces.

"Disarming us is like Satan dreaming of heaven. No one can take away our weapons," he said.

He also reportedly admitted that the talks could collapse. "There is a danger to the reconciliation project," Sinwar was quoted as saying, though he did not elaborate.

Last week, the two rival Palestinian factions signed an agreement in Cairo to allow the PA to take full control of the Gaza, which it was kicked out of 10 years ago by Hamas in a violent conflict.

Speaking immediately after signing the deal, Saleh al-Arouri, the Hamas deputy political leader, said Palestinian unity was vital "so that we can all work together against the Zionist enterprise."

Sinwar on Thursday reiterated his group's desire for the reconciliation process to be successful, and personally invited Abbas to hold the next meeting of his party's central committee and of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), the largest Palestinian political umbrella group, in Gaza.

"I call for the Fatah Central Committee and the Palestine Liberation Organization to hold its next meeting in Gaza, headed by [Abbas]," Sinwar said, according to a Hamas spokesperson.

During his talk, Sinwar also touched upon prisoner negotiations between Hamas and Israel.

In his statement, Sinwar reportedly said "we are ready for a second Shalit deal," a reference to the 2011 prisoner exchange for abducted IDF soldier Gilad Shalit that was his own ticket out of Israeli prison. In the new deal, he claimed, Fatah leader and convicted murderer Marwan Barghouti, as well as others, would go free.

Hamas is said to be holding captive three Israelis — Avraham Abera Mengistu, Hisham al-Sayed and Juma Ibrahim Abu Ghanima — all said to have entered the Gaza Strip of their own accord. Hamas is also holding the bodies of Oron Shaul and Hadar Goldin, two IDF soldiers who were killed in the Strip during the 2014 Gaza war.

Last month it was reported that Hamas had accepted an Egyptian proposal for a prisoner swap with Israel whereby the bodies of 39 Palestinians killed in the 2014 Gaza war, 19 of whom are Hamas members, would be handed over to the group in exchange for Hamas acknowledging the fate of IDF soldiers Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul. The IDF says the two were killed in the Gaza Strip during the 2014 war. Hamas has hinted that it is holding the two soldiers and has also implied that they could still be alive.

In the second stage of the Egyptian plan, Israel would reportedly release the so-called "Shalit captives" — 58 Palestinians who were rearrested in the summer of 2014 after being set free in the 2011 swap for IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.

Kahane on the Parsha

Rabbi Meir Kahane- Parshat Noach

NO REST IN THE EXILE

"'And [Noah] sent forth a dove...but the dove found no rest for the sole of its foot, and it returned to him into the ark' (Genesis 8:8-9). Rabbi Shimon said: Had it found a resting place it would not have returned. And similary does it say: '[Israel] sat among the nations and found no resting place' (Lamentations 1:3). Had they found a resting place they would not have returned to Eretz Yisrael. And similarly: 'And among those nations you shall find no peace, neither shall the sole of your foot have rest' (Deuteronomy 28:65). Had they found a resting place they would have never returned" (Bereishit Rabba 33:6).

The divine proclamation is clear: There will be no rest for the Jew in the Exile because if there would be rest and tranquility and comfort and ease, the Jew would NEVER return to Eretz Yisrael. How well the Rabbis knew the Jews!!!
No amount of halacha, no amount of admonition, no amount of religious observance would ever convince the overwhelming majority to leave an Exile in which they find ease and rest for the soles of their feet. And that is why there is an iron law of Judaism that decrees that the Exile shall never be anything but a place of terror and fear and tragedy.
I wonder if the average Jew knows how much he is hated in America. I wonder if the average Jew has the slightest knowledge of the immense, deep, poisonous venom that is Jew-hatred in the United States. I doubt it. We live in our ghettos, our increasingly golden ghettos, and see and hear nothing, and we sit satisfied in our glatt isolation that so enables us to escape from the reality of the vicious bile and venom. We live in our worlds of dreams and illusions and know nothing.

Can we imagine what will be if, G-d forbid, there is an economic collapse of massive proportions? Can we imagine what will be if the American economy bursts- an economy that is one huge balloon filled with the gas of huge debt, unbridled spending and borrowing, trade deficit, a banking and savings and loan system that sits on the thin ice of loans that can never be repaid, an economy that is one huge fraud as jobs and products slip away into the Japanese-Asian orbit?

Can we imagine what will be when the violent American who has been hopelessly spoiled by 40 years of unprecedented prosperity and wallowing in the mud of materialism suddenly faces economic ruin? Can we imagine what will happen when the life of three automobiles to a family, VCRs, a TV in each room, vacations, fun, fun, fun - suddenly comes to a screeching stop?

Such a person will become a wild animal, literally incapable of accepting a life of sharp economic displacement. He will follow anyone who promises to restore him to the days of beer and daisies. And the scapegoat will be - the Jew.

And so, I do not even bother any longer to persuade Jews of the halachic obligation to live in Eretz Yisrael, of the positive reason for going there. They will not go. Together they sit in the fleshpots, in a sensational display of Jewish unity against leaving the golden land. Reform, Conservative, Orthodox, ultra-Orthodox, all bound in a pledge of allegiance to the good life and all that for which it stands.

I can only warn them about the ultimate halachic scholar for the Jew in the Exile. Who is that? Why, surely, the gentile.
