Get to Heaven Keep the Seven

Everybody wants spirituality. To be a good person means to walk in G-d's ways. How does that translate to reality? The only guidebook to spirituality that has stood the test of time is the Hebrew Bible. The Bible says that the Jews will be a light onto the nations. But if you are not a born Jew, you have to convert, which is not so easy!! If you do convert, it is a lot of work to be a Jew (three times a day prayer, keeping kosher, observing the Sabbath).

This blog will show you how to be Jewish without the work!!

Jerusalem Municipality launches new website

Yehuda Lave, Spiritual

Advisor and Counselor
Have youever noticed that there is something unique about Jewish history? No nation has survived such persistent persecution and survived the millennia. For that matter, most nations which have not been persecuted have not survived the millennia! Not only have the Jewish people survived, but they have impacted the course of history and the values of the world like no other people!

For a nation to survive there are essential factors: a large population, a country where that population stays together, a common history, a common language. Not only has the Jewish people survived contrary to these requirements -- but our existence, our uniqueness and our impact are prophesied in the Torah!

Here are four fascinating Torah prophecies about the Jewish people relating to our survival.

1. ETERNAL NATION -- most nations rise and fall through history, yet...

It has been prophesied in the Torah that Jews would be an eternal nation: "And I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and your descendants after you, throughout the generations. An eternal covenant to be your God, and the God of your descendants after you" (Genesis 17-7). This promise is repeated many times throughout the Torah (Leviticus 26:43, Deuteronomy 4:26-27, Deut. 28:63-64).

We survive to this day while it is fair to say that most people have never heard of the Hittites, Emorites, Perizzites, Jebusites or Girgashites who were our contemporaries.

2. FEW IN NUMBER
-- for a nation to survive, it needs large numbers, yet:

The Torah tells us, "And you shall remain few in number among the nations to which God shall lead you" (Devarim 4:27).

To every other people, a small population spells extinction. We know from the records that the Romans kept about 2,000 years ago, there were between 8 -10 million Jews living in the world. How many Jews do demographers say should be in the world today?

If in the same period of time, the Chinese went from a population of 30 million to over 1 billion people, there should be approximately 500 million Jews alive in the world today. After the Chinese and the Indians, the third largest ethnic group on the planet earth should be the Jews! There are virtually no more Jews in the world today than there were 2,000 years ago and yet throughout all this time, the Jews remained a distinct people.

3. EXILE & DISPERSION
-- for a nation to survive, its people need to stay together, yet:

The Torah prophecy informs us, "And you, I will scatter among the nations, at the point of My drawn sword, leaving your country desolate and your cities in ruins" (Leviticus 26:33).

The dispersion of the Jewish People to the four corners of the globe is a completely unique phenomenon in human history. (There are other dispersions of people from one land to another). Jews have wandered and settled in almost every land on earth -- while somehow managing to maintain their distinct national identity.

Multiple exiles are unheard of, since after the first one the people generally disappear -- they simply become assimilated among other peoples. In human history, multiple exiles and dispersion are unique only to the Jewish people.

4. ANTI-SEMITISM
-- for a nation to survive, it needs to have no internal or external threats -- or the strength to defeat them, yet the Torah prophesies regarding the Jewish experience amongst their host nations:

"And Among those nations you will not be tranquil, there will be no rest for your foot. There God will give you a trembling heart, longing of eyes and suffering of soul. You will live in constant suspense. Day and night, you will be terrified, never sure of your existence. In the morning you will say, 'If only it were night,' and in the evening you will say, 'If only it were morning!' Such will be the dread that your heart will feel and the sights that your eyes will see" (Deut. 28:65-67).

No other form of racial hatred comes close to anti-Semitism in its virulence, its intensity and its irrationality. If we look at the history of anti-Semitism, we see one unceasing chain of slaughter, pogroms, pillaging, expulsion and genocide. And yet not only have we survived, but our history has been prophesied!

Michael Wardian has set a new Fastest Known Time on theIsrael National Trail, covering the 1016 km (631 mile) trail from south to north in 10 days 16 hours 36 minutes.

The  Israel National Trail is an approximately 1016km / 631mi hiking trail that crosses Israel from its southern to northern border, traversing a wide range of landscapes, a rich variety of flora and fauna, and a diversity of cultures.

The trail stretches from Eilat on the Gulf of Aqaba to the Dan Kibbutz near the Lebanese border, and was named by National Geographic as one of the  20 best "epic hiking trails" in the world.

It is believed that the most likely Fastest Known Time on the INT was 15 days in 2013 by Australian Richard Bowles (see  English and  Hebrew articles). Most people hike the trail in 45 to 60 days.

Wardian is a prodigious American marathoner and ultra-marathoner with a lengthy list of podium finishes at distances from half marathon to 100 miles, with world records such as the fastest time for 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days, and the fastest 50k on a treadmill.

Trump signs Golan proclamation with Netanyahu looking on

At a White House meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Monday afternoon, President Donald Trump signed a presidential decree recognizing Israeli sovereignty on the Golan Heights.

Netanyahu praised Trump and compared him to great historical leaders who were lovers of Israel, such as King Cyrus, Lord Balfour and President Harry S. Truman.

"This is a historic day," Netanyahu said in statements to the media. The told the dignitaries who were gathered in the Oval Office about the two decades during which Syria had fired from the Golan heights at Israeli civilians, until on two glorious days in June 1967, Israel liberated the Golan Heights.

Benjamin Netanyahu praised Trump for "making the bond between America and Israel stronger and greater than ever."

Netanyahu recalled Syria's attack on Israel in 1973 in an attempt to retake the Golan Heights, and how Israel managed to repel it and within three weeks stood at the gates of Damascus..

Netanyahu also reminisced about his own experience leading his soldiers in the snow in Syria and the Golan heights.

"More than 50 years have passed since Israel won these two wars," Netanyahu concluded, noting that until today no one had expected an American president to endorse Israel's annexation of the height. He called Trump's decision to recognize Israel's sovereignty over the Golan an example justice that has been long due. "

Trump said Israel had occupied the territory in 1967 in order to defend itself against external threats, stating that any future political settlement must include Israel's security needs and its ability to defend itself.

"Under my administration, Israel-US relations have never been stronger," Trump declared before signing his Golan proclamation.

From ISRAEL21c

We are excited to share these new images and videos transmitted to Earth from Beresheet, the privately funded Israeli unmanned spacecraft  launched toward the Moon from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida on February 21.

The engineering teams of SpaceIL and Israel Aerospace Industries, based in IAI's control center in Yehud, downloaded these photos and footage taken by the small spacecraft at different heights and times along its journey.

If successfully captured by the lunar orbit on April 4, Beresheet will land on the Moon's Sea of Tranquility on approximately April 11.

The video below shows the process of sunrise from Beresheet's point of view. At first, the Earth hides the sun from the spacecraft and then the sun exits from the same shadow.
