Today and Shabbat, I am celebrating the life and passing of my beloved Sister who passed away a few weeks before her 74th birthday. I am sponsoring the third meal at my Yeshiva on Shabbat in honor of her Shloshim, which because of the Holiday of Succout -30 days became 15. She led a tough life with a lot of pain, and we know she is in a better place

The Three Musketeers at the Kotel

The Three are Rabbi Yehuda Glick, famous temple mount activist, and former Israel Mk, and then Robert Weinger, the world's greatest shofar blower and seller of Shofars, and myself after we had gone to the 12 gates of the Temple Mount in 2020 to blow the shofar to ask G-d to heal the world from the Pandemic. It was a highlight to my experience in living in Israel and I put it on my blog each day to remember.

The articles that I include each day are those that I find interesting, so I feel you will find them interesting as well. I don't always agree with all the points of each article but found them interesting or important to share with you, my readers, and friends. It is cathartic for me to share my thoughts and frustrations with you about life in general and in Israel. As a Rabbi, I try to teach and share the Torah of the G-d of Israel as a modern Orthodox Rabbi. I never intend to offend anyone but sometimes people are offended and I apologize in advance for any mistakes. The most important psychological principle I have learned is that once someone's mind is made up, they don't want to be bothered with the facts, so, like Rabbi Akiva, I drip water (Torah is compared to water) on their made-up minds and hope that some of what I have share sinks in. A passionate group of Israeli volunteers is working to restore an ancient, sacred site—the traditional tomb of Jesse and Ruth, the father and great-grandmother of King David, located in Hebron.

Their efforts are more than just a preservation project; they see it as the fulfillment of a millennia-old prophecy from the Book of Isaiah. According to Isaiah, the resting place of Jesse, the patriarch of the royal Davidic line, would one day be "glorified."

The restoration project, steeped in reverence and cultural pride, is breathing new life into this historical site. The volunteers are not only preserving a physical monument but also reigniting a sense of spiritual connection to the lineage of Israel's greatest king.

14th Century Bible with 'Miraculous Story of Survival' Auctioned for $6.9 Million

A Bible from the 14th century that survived upheavals in Safed, Baghdad, Tripoli, London, and Geneva over the course of seven centuries was purchased at Sotheby's for $6.9 million.

Rabbi Shem Tov Ibn Gaon wrote the Bible in 1312 in Spain and took it to the mystical Israeli city of Safed before his death in 1333.

By taking the Bible with him, Rabbi Shem Tov Ibn Gaon preserved it from antisemitic riots in the 15th century, culminating in the Inquisition and the expulsion of Jews from Spain, which was responsible for the destruction of many Jewish books.
