Get to Heaven Keep the Seven

Everybody wants spirituality. To be a good person means to walk in G-d's ways. How does that translate to reality? The only guidebook to spirituality that has stood the test of time is the Hebrew Bible. The Bible says that the Jews will be a light onto the nations. But if you are not a born Jew, you have to convert, which is not so easy!! If you do convert, it is a lot of work to be a Jew (three times a day prayer, keeping kosher, observing the Sabbath).

This blog will show you how to be Jewish without the work!!

During our 40 years sojourn in the desert, we were attacked by the nation of Amalek. While the battle took place, Moshe stood on the top of a hill and raised his hands towards the heavens. This reminded the Jewish people to subject their hearts to the Almighty so that they would succeed and be victorious over Amalek. The Torah states:

"And the hands of Moshe were heavy and they took a rock and placed it under him and he sat on it" (Exodus 17:12).

Why did Moshe sit on a rock and not on pillows?

Rashi, the great commentator, informs us that Moshe sat on a rock and not on pillows because he did not want to sit in comfort while Jews were in danger and suffering. He wanted to feel their suffering and to share it. Rabbi Yeruchem Levovitz teaches that this is a lesson for us regarding how to feel another person's suffering. Don't just imagine the pain of another, but do something physically to actually feel his pain.

Empathy is such an important attribute that we should make every effort to feel for another person. By being aware of how a little discomfort bothers us, we can have greater empathy for others -- especially those coming to our door or meeting us in the street asking for tzedakah (charity)!

An egotistical person only cares about his own welfare and is totally uninterested in anyone else's difficulties and problems. He only wants to make certain that he is comfortable. If he is in any distress, he no longer can think about the suffering of others. Here we see that in order to feel someone else's suffering, we should go out of our way to make ourselves a little less comfortable when others are suffering. Our own distress is more real than someone else's. By being aware of how a little discomfort bothers us, we can have greater empathy for others!

Grand New Entrance to Jerusalem will Transform the Historic Skyline By Arye Green

An ambitious plan for the new entrance to Jerusalem is underway, which will forever change the main entrance to the capital city of Israel.

The new complex, expected to be completed by 2022, spans over 300,000 square meters (328,084 square yards) and is expected to cost about NIS 1.5 billion ($435 million). The project will feature 24 towers, spanning between 24 and 40 flights tall. The towers will include approximately 1.5 million square meters of space that will be used for office space, hotels, housing units, and commerce.

The project will incorporate an underground transportation hub, that will include parking for 1,300 cars and a central hub for three light rail lines, one of which is currently operational. The hun will also be connected to the underground Navon train station that services the Jerusalem – Tel-Aviv express train.

The massive amount of office space planned in the new project aims to develop the business sector in Jerusalem, a crucial stream of revenue for the city's Municipality.

Tel-Aviv has had an upper hand in the realm of business and economic development for decades, but the new complex hopes to bring Jerusalem to the next level and facilitate a nurturing ecosystem for sustained growth and entrepreneurship.

The idea to incorporate industry, commerce, leisure, housing, and hotels all into one grand plan, is inspired by a global trend towards mixed-use of property. It is considered to be mutually beneficial for the different kinds of development to be near each other.

The Israel Land Administration and Jerusalem Municipality have recently started to market the space in the complex that is planned to be completed first. The first stage will be roughly one acre in size and will include hotels, commerce, and industry.

The current construction at the site is focused on infrastructure for the surrounding area, minimizing the ramifications of the mega-project for its neighbors, and removing archaeological findings.

Archaeological discoveries are often made during foundation digging in the ancient city of Jerusalem and around Israel, and preserving the findings has been a crucial part of the building process for many years.

Parasha Poetry by Evelyn Hayes

Parasha : DEVARIM: REBELLION AND POSSESSION Erev Tisha B"Av Haftorah Devarim By Evelyn Hayes (c) "Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and her returnees with righteousness" Isaiah 1:1-27
A liberalism is a rebellion against the commandments of G-d A liberalism is a me-ism that thinks it is commander, not the L-rd Offspring not of the Mothers and Fathers, holding their heritage in disregard. Offspring forsaking, participating in a war against their Biblical accord. Forgetting Sodom, Forgetting Gemorrah. rejecting the Torah Forgetting the sacrifices and making themselves corruptors Suffering the consequences of their impurities Suffering the pain from their immaturities Losing the link, resisting and insisting Losing the link, following and bowing No matter the warnings against their distortions No matter the calamities of their abortions. Purification is a must to restore the allegiance Purification is a rectification for the unbalance No more lust, kidnapping, killing, bribery, thievery, distrust, No More Evil will lead to No More Upheaval A recommitment to justice, love and positive action A recommitment to caring and sharing, a healing faction Validation with the tehillim of David, Solomon's wisdom Validation by true judges to re-establish His kingdom. A weakness from slavery was strengthened by bravery A weakness from slavery is the path to mastery True freedom has red lights and spotlights True freedom is righteousness that is the forbearer of rights. A fortitude from the teachings of the elders A fortitude because their derech is of the believers Working for HASHEM is all freedom and glory Working with HASHEM is creation, goodness, the Biblical story.

Writers opinions from my Sister a Writer like myself

Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated, communication is open, and rules are flexible - the kind of atmosphere that is found in a nurturing family. Foxes on the Temple Mount

Ammunition Hill Museum 081319

One of the most powerful museums in Israel is also one of the least known. Sitting on a major trolley stop is the Ammunition museum. On the very spot of the one of the major battles of the 1967 war, this was one of the battles that won the war for Jerusalem and then the Country. It is a very powerful place available every day and will give you all the inspiration you need to make Aliya to Israel. When we were there, a new group of IDF recruits were being shown their history before they were born.

See you tomorrow bli neder
