Get to Heaven Keep the Seven

Everybody wants spirituality. To be a good person means to walk in G-d's ways. How does that translate to reality? The only guidebook to spirituality that has stood the test of time is the Hebrew Bible. The Bible says that the Jews will be a light onto the nations. But if you are not a born Jew, you have to convert, which is not so easy!! If you do convert, it is a lot of work to be a Jew (three times a day prayer, keeping kosher, observing the Sabbath).

This blog will show you how to be Jewish without the work!!

Although a little out of order, below are pictures from the synagogue I davened in Warsaw, the Nozyk Synagogue. It was the only one that survived in Warsaw from pre war, and  is still active, as I davened there each morning with the Chief Rabbi of Poland and Warsaw. I misspoke yesterday and said there were over three million Jews in Warsaw before the war, I meant to say there were over three million Jews in Poland.

Also
To honor the victims of 9/11 JNF, KKL and the United States Embassy will be hosting a memorial service  ceremony. On the 18th anniversary of this tragedy this is a powerful way to honor the country where so many of us were raised and to remember this sad day in American history.

The ceremony will be held at the KKL-JNF Living Memorial in Emek Ha'arazim in Jerusalem

The Nożyk Synagogue (Polish: Synagoga Nożyków) is the only surviving prewar Jewish house of prayer in Warsaw, Poland. It was built in 1898-1902 and was restored after World War II. It is still operational and currently houses the Warsaw Jewish Commune, as well as other Jewish organizations.

The synagogue in 1909 Before World War II the Jewish community of Warsaw, one of the largest Jewish communities in the world at that time, had over 400 houses of prayer at its disposal. However, at the end of 19th century only two of them were separate structures, while the rest were smaller chapels attached to schools, hospitals or private homes.

The earliest Round Synagogue in the borough of Praga served the local community since 1839, while the Great Synagogue (erected in 1878) was built for the reformed community. Soon afterwards a need arose to build a temple also for the orthodox Jewry. Between 1898 and 1902 Zalman Nożyk, a renowned Warsaw merchant, and his wife Ryfka financed such temple at Twarda street, next to the neighbourhood of Grzybów [pl] and Plac Grzybowski.

The building was designed by a famous Warsaw architect, Karol Kozłowski, author of the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra Hall.[1] The façade is neo-romanticist, with notable neo-Byzantine elements. The building itself is rectangular, with the internal chamber divided into three aisles. The synagogue was officially opened to the public on May 26, 1902. In 1914 the founders donated it to the Warsaw Jewish Commune, in exchange for yearly prayers in their intention. In 1923 the building was refurbished by Maurycy Grodzieński, who also designed a semi-circular choir that was attached to the eastern wall of the temple.

In September 1939 the synagogue was damaged during an air raid. During World War II the area was part of the Small Ghetto and shared its fate during the Ghetto Uprising and then the liquidation of the Jewish community of Warsaw by the Nazis. After 1941 the Germans used the building as stables and a depot. Restoration After the war the demolished building was partially restored and returned to the Warsaw Jewish Commune, but the reconstruction did not start. It was completely rebuilt between 1977 and 1983 (officially opened April 18, 1983). It was also then that a new wing was added to the eastern wall, currently housing the seat of the commune, as well as several other Jewish organizations.

Currently it is in use daily as both a place of worship as well as a place of gathering.

Rabbi Yitzchak Berkovits To Be Inaugurated As Rosh Yeshiva Of Aish HaTorah

At the heart of Aish HaTorah is its yeshiva (academy of advanced Torah study) overlooking the Western Wall. In 1974, Rabbi Noah Weinberg zt"l founded Aish HaTorah and as its visionary Rosh Yeshiva (Dean) set the organization's spiritual, educational, and philosophical direction.
In recent years, this position has gone unoccupied, leaving a large void. In the search for a new Rosh Yeshiva, one candidate – an "Aish insider" – stood out.

UNCOMFORTABLE QUESTIONS FOR COMFORTABLE JEWS

By Rabbi Meir Kahane, written in 1987

The Temple Mount (excerpts)

Once upon a time, in the exile, the Jews would decide every major step by the proposition:  What will the gentiles say.  Then they created Israel, where Jews would be sovereign and free….Laugh not, but rather weep for generations.

Jerusalem. Where the Palestinian autonomy and eventual state is being built.  Jerusalem, which mirrors so much of the other desecrations that fills the land.

The Temple Mount is not in our hands.  East Jerusalem is not in our hands.  Judea and Samaria and Gaza and the Golan are not in our hands.  The Biblical Eretz Yisrael which we liberated through G-d's decree in 1967, is not in our hands.

The Temple Mount is in their hands, the foxes, the cunning Arab foxes.  And the words of Motta Gur ring hollowly – and it is we who are to blame.  We took a miracle and disdained it.  We, who took holiness and profaned it.  We who were given a Zion, a Jerusalem, Temple Mount – and gave it over to the jackal-foxes.

He who controls the Temple Mount will control Jerusalem.  And he who controls Jerusalem will control the Holy Land.  And the desecration of the Land and of G-d is inconceivable.

JEWS TERRIFY ME

I have never been afraid of the Arabs; it is the Jews who terrify me.  The ultimate danger to Jews has never been the gentile; it is the Jews who have always been their own worst enemy.  And no Arab state or combination thereof can ever bring Israel to its knees.  To accomplish that, they must look to the enemy within, the Jews of self-hate, of cancerous guilt, the lemmings of Suicide Now.  To our bitter regret, there is no lack of these; the enemy is indeed within the gates, within the walls.

THE DREAM

The hope is not yet lost – the hope of two thousand years, to be a free people in our own land…" (from the Israeli national anthem, "Hatikva')

The following appeared as a letter to the editor in the Histradut labor newspaper Davar (June 30, 1986

"On June 19, we were waiting on line to see the doctor, some 30 of us.  An argument broke out between a young woman elegantly dressed and obviously well off, and an elderly man.  He quietly explained to her that it was his turn to see the doctor.  She began screaming at him and among the gems said: 'I am an Arab; this land is mine and who needs you Jews here? Go back where you came from.'

"A large crowd gathered from all the departments – and, now, pay attention:  An Arab woman stands between perhaps 100 Jews in a Jewish institution waiting to see a Jewish doctor and shots.  Then she slapped the elderly Jew.  He wished to hit her back, but could not reach her.  She gave him a hard blow and sent him flying.  He lost consciousness, blood flowed from his head, and he was given oxygen and taken by ambulance to the hospital.  But, no one touched the Arab woman!  What would have happened if this had been a Jewish woman among Arabs?  The police came and she shouted:  I am not afraid of anyone, not you or the police…."

In the year 5707 –1948 by the gentile calendar that the Jews had lived under for so long-the dream was realized.  A Jewish State was declared in the Land of Israel.  A Jewish State!  No more fear, no more terror in the streets!  A Jewish State! Free and proud and a kingdom of Kings!    Hardly!

More attacks on Jews pre-Oslo years, can be found in "Uncomfortable Questions for Comfortable Jews," Chapter 7 – The Dream

Israeli's Are Living Nice Long Lives

According to a recent OECD report that surveyed 34 countries, life expectancy in Israel is of the highest amongst those countries. Though not all of the data is good, it shows that Israel has a lower rate of beds per patient in hospitals, a shortage of nurses and one of the highest breast cancer death rates.

According to the collected data, Israel has the 4th highest life expectancy amongst the organization's countries. The average Israeli male lives 79.9 years compared to the organization's average of 77.3. First amongst countries is Icelan with an average of 80.7 years and the last place is Estonia with 71.2 years. However, the gap for female life expectancy is lower with Israel's being 83.6 compared to the origination's 83.1.

The data also shows that over 65 year olds make up 10% of Israel's population compared to an average of 15.4% amongst OECD countries.

Conditions in hospitals are not as positive. According to the report, the rate of general hospitalization beds is very low compared with other organization countries, standing at 1.9 beds per 1000 people as opposed to 3.4 in other OECD countries.

How much does Israel spend on health? The national health expenditures as a percentage of gross national product is low compared to OECD countries standing at 7.7%, as opposed to 9.3% amongst the organization's countries.

More data shows that Israel has one of the highest breast cancer death rates amongst OECD countries. While the organization's average stands at 25.8 deaths per 100,000 women, the average in Israel is 31.2 deaths.

In contrast, death as a result of prostate cancer is lower in Israel compared to other countries with 17.2 per 100,000 men as opposed to an organization average of 33.4 deaths.

The number of hospitalization days in Israel is low. According to the report, the number of hospitalization days stands at 4.2 days as opposed to OECD countries where the average is 6.5. Only one country is below Israel on the list – Turkey with an average of 3.8 days.

Israel's fertility rate amongst women aged 15-49 is quite positive. According to the data Israel is atop the list with an average of 3 children per women, while the organization average stands at 1.7. Israel is far above the second country on the list – New Zealand where the average stands at 2.1 children.

The obesity rate amongst Israeli men is also higher compared to other organization countries with the Israeli rate standing at 57.8%, as opposed to the organization's 56.3%. However, obesity amongst Israeli women stands at 42.9% which is lower than the organization's average of 43.8%.

James Sinkinson Two-state advocates must answer these seven questions

The Palestinians do not have the cultural, economic or political infrastructure to support a state in this region. Worse yet, they seem not to have the desire.

(August 11, 2019 / FLAME) It's been an article of faith for most recent U.S. presidents, for Western European nations and for many American politicians today that peace between Israel and the Palestinians can only be achieved through the so-called "two-state solution"—two states for two peoples, living side by side in peace and security.

Certainly, sympathy for the Palestinian people's national aspirations is understandable, as is heartfelt sadness that they're forced to live under the oppression of their leadership. Unfortunately, sympathy and pity alone can't solve the intractable problems inherent in the two-state solution—and most adherents of the two-state paradigm seem to ignore these formidable obstacles and jump instead to a fantasy ending.

So, if you support the two-state solution or know people who do, here is a list of seven questions those advocates need to answer honestly and convincingly. Without answers—resolution of the huge problems absolutely preventing two states—the two-state solution is no solution at all.

1. Why won't the Palestinian Arabs recognize Israel as the national home of the Jewish people?

This is the single greatest stumbling block preventing a Palestinian state. For 71 years, the Arabs have steadfastly refused to accept the Jewish state—preserving the hope that someday the Jews will be driven from the Holy Land. Indeed, according to a recent poll, 57% of Palestinians believe their main national goal should be a one-state solution, reclaiming all of historic Palestine from the river to the sea. While it's clear that Western intellectuals want a two-state solution, does it make sense to insist on something Palestinian leaders or people don't want?

2. When will the two warring Palestinian factions—Hamas and Fatah—reconcile?

Ever since Hamas, the totalitarian Islamist group, won Palestinian elections in 2006 and then violently seized Gaza, it has waged war with the "establishment" Fatah party in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank). Not only are Gaza and the West Bank separated geographically, but for 13 bitter years these two factions have failed to end hostilities, despite their own ardent efforts and those of other Arab nations, most notably Egypt. Until Fatah and Hamas declare peace, there's no entity with whom Israel can negotiate peace.

3. When will Hamas retract its sworn mission to destroy Israel?

Hamas, the terrorist group that controls Gaza, is today allied with Iran, which itself advocates Israel's destruction and supports the Palestinian terrorists with tens of millions of dollars in annual aid. How can Israel achieve security when the Hamas charter and its every action focus on eliminating the Jewish state by military force?

4. When will the Palestinians hold national elections?

Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas was elected to a four-year term in 2005. He has now served 14 years without standing for election again, and neither Palestinians in Judea and Samaria nor in Gaza have held national elections since 2006, effectively making both territories dictatorships. Above all, the Palestinians have no tradition of or institutional infrastructure to support democracy. Is this a sustainable model for the next Arab state?

5. When will the Palestinians create a self-sustaining economy?

While the P.A. and Hamas have received billions of dollars in aid from the United States, the European Union and Arab states, neither group has invested in economic infrastructure sufficient to create viable industries. Hamas invests a huge portion of aid and tax money in military efforts to wage war on Israel, and Fatah is famously corrupt, making its leaders and bureaucrats wealthy, while choking its economy. Unemployment in the West Bank is 18%; it's 52% in Gaza. The West Bank has no electrical power company; neither territory has an airport or railroad. Without massive international welfare payments, both entities would collapse—hardly a recommendation for statehood.

6. What would prevent Hamas from taking over a new Palestinian state?

Hamas clearly has superior military might: It took control of Gaza by force in 2007, today has 20,000 men under arms and commands tens of thousands of rockets. What's more, it has an extremely well-organized political arm and is supported enthusiastically by Iran—an enemy of the United States and Israel. If a Palestinian state were formed with the P.A. in charge, how could the United States, Israel, Jordan and Egypt be assured that Islamist Hamas terrorists would not seize the new "country"?

7. When will the Palestinians institute political freedoms and rule of law?

Like many totalitarian Middle Eastern nations, the Palestinian leadership's current principles of self-governance in Judea and Samaria and Gaza do not include civil rights or fair government. The U.N. Special Coordinator has reported that in Palestinian jurisdictions, "many of the fundamental pre-conditions for rule of law development have yet to be realized." Human Rights Watch reports that the P.A. is "arresting, abusing and criminally charging journalists who express peaceful criticism of authorities." The security apparatus in both territories is completely outside of civilian control, subject to the whims of unelected leaders. One can only imagine the horror of living under such norms.

Perhaps at one time a two-state solution seemed reasonable. But that was before the Palestinians turned down outlandishly generous peace offers by Israel in 2000, 2001 and 2008, before Hamas took over Gaza and launched three wars against Israel, before Iran blossomed into a regional cancer, before the Syrian and Yemeni civil wars, before Islamic State and Al-Qaeda, before 14 years of corrupt rule by Mahmoud Abbas.

History has changed the region irrevocably. These events raise a new set of unavoidable, high-stakes questions. Until every one of these problems is addressed by Western intellectuals, the two-state solution is indefensible—and, worse, irresponsible and dangerous.

The "two-state solution" has ceased to be viable. Very simply, the Palestinians do not have the cultural, economic or political infrastructure to support a state in this region. Worse yet, they seem not to have the desire.

Clearly, imposing a Palestinian state on Israel, the Palestinian people or the world at this time—or any time in the foreseeable future—would be a  mistake.

James Sinkinson is president of Facts and Logic About the Middle East (FLAME), which publishes educational messages to correct lies and misperceptions about Israel and its relationship to the United States.

4 Long Distance Hiking Trails In Israel

Despite its "miniature" size, Israel is blessed with several amazing and diverse long-distance hiking trails. The most well-known is the 1,000 kilometers (621 miles) "Israel National Trail" that crosses the whole country from north to south. However, there are also a few others, not as long, but not less attractive. In this post, I will try to cover the most distinguished ones.

Archaeological Discovery Attests To Babylonian Conquest Of Jerusalem

The discovery of a tiny fragment of a gold and silver piece of jewelry on Mount Zion in Jerusalem, announced on Saturday night by the Mount Zion Archaeological Project, is evidence of the Babylonian conquest of Jerusalem, according to researchers.

The Babylonians, under the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar, besieged Jerusalem and then conquered the city, razing it - including Solomon's Temple - and burning it to the ground. The researchers discovered further evidence of the Babylonian destruction in ash layers on Mount Zion. The ash layers were confirmed to belong to the era of the Babylonia conquest through the specific artifacts and materials found which are unique to that period, such as Scythian arrowheads and pottery fragments.

The AliExpress Shopping Guide

AliExpress—Ecommerce Rival

AliExpress, owned by the Chinese Alibaba Group, is one of the world's leading online retailers. Launched in 2010, AliExpress offers significantly cheaper products than its rivals. In cooperation with Chinese merchants , AliExpress acts as an e-commerce platform and doesn' t sell products directly to consumers.

Israel, AliExpress's Largest Market

The Israeli market accounts for AliExpress's largest customer base. A ccording to a report by the IsraeI Postal Company, AliExpress topped Israel's cross-border shopping websites in 2018.

China's Singles Day (online shopping festival of Nov 11) is like an exciting holiday that Israelis look forward to. Although the Israeli population is only 8 million, about 4 million orders are placed from Israel on AliExpress on November 11th.

What do Israeli Customers Say?

Customers in Israel are satisfied with the online retail company AliExpress. This is evident by the increasing number of Israelis using the service. AliExpress connects Israelis to low-cost, high-quality products, which leads to customer satisfaction.

Why Israelis Choose AliExpress

Considering the high cost of living and taxes in Israel, it' s obvious why Israelis prefer to cut costs by any means possible. One way is by ordering cheap online products that are quite expensive back home. An order costing below $75 is exempt from import tax, so the final cost stays low.

Shipping to Israel

Is it really that quick? Shipping from China to Israel used to be a major issue. Previous delivery methods were not quick enough, considering the enormous number of buyers and the number of packages. Just a few years ago, packages arrived in Israel three or four months after being shipped from China! Currently, the delivery system is much more quick and efficient. AliExpress has various shipping methods, including 30- day free shipping and express shipping that costs just a few dollars. The customer usually receives an email within 72 hours of package dispatch and can track the order online. Orders normally arrive within 30 days.

Israel Postal has been operating a sorting center in Modi'in, about 10 kilometers away from Ben Gurion International Airport, since April 2017 With a total area of 13,000 square meters, the center is the biggest site in Israel responsible for sorting cross-border online packages, most of which weigh 2 kilograms or less.

Though the packages from AliExpress originate in China, they are delivered to Israel mainly viaEurope. That' s why customers in Israel often wait at least two or three weeks to receive their orders. For Israeli customers, it' s worth the wait because goods from China are cheap and high quality, and delivery is free.

Pitfalls of Online Shopping

When online shopping was first available in the mid-90s, many users struggled with flawed products, lost orders and poor customer service. Buyers all around the world demanded better customer service and refunds on flawed products. Online businesses saw that better customer service was necessary to retain loyal e-customers. This led to a revolution in customer service which improved the online shopping experience. Merchants started to take responsibility for delivering faulty goods, and customers' rights increased. If a customer didn' t like the product purchased, he was able ask for a refund or exchange it. This led to the inclusion of warranties, which offer protection to the customer.

What to Expect from AliExpress

Aliexpress, one of the biggest e-commerce sites in the world, underwent a customer service revolution to accommodate customers all around the globe. Customers feel as safe buying on Aliexpress as they do on its rivals, Amazon and eBay.

The e-commerce giant from China, prevents merchants from getting paid until buyers report that they are satisfied with the products they ordered. If a customer fails to report, Aliexpress withholds payment for 60 days, in order to protect customers and ensure a refund if needed.

Features of Aliexpress:

  1. Order a little or a lot:
AliExpress has no minimum or maximum order quantity.
  2. Low unit price compared to other markets:
Prices on AliExpress are cheap compared to other online shopping websites. This is primarily because it is located in China, which has one of the most business-friendly environments in the world for manufacturing and exporting . Though it is quite cheap, buying in wholesale is cheaper. This is due to a simple economic fact, the more units of goods you acquire, the lower the unit price becomes.
  3. Free shipping:
AliExpress usually offers free shipping as an incentive to attract customers to place orders on the platform. It has various shipping methods, including 30- day free shipping and express shipping, which costs just a few dollars.
  4. Easy, user-friendly shopping interface:
AliExpress has an easy shopping interface that is easy to use and has a familiar feel to customers. The online platform is visually appealing and easy to scroll through, and the interface is user - friendly.
  5. Shipping time:
Goods shipped from AliExpress usually take a long time to reach consumers. This is one of the challenges AliExpress has been grappling with since its inception; how to deliver goods to consumers in the shortest time possible. Goods ordered from AliExpress used to take 3-4 months to ship to Israel, but now it's only about 2-3 weeks. Despite the shortened shipping time from China to Israel, AliExpress is still trying to improve the customer experience with even quicker shipping.
  6. No need to talk to suppliers.
AliExpress connects merchants and consumers together through its platform. AliExpress acts as the middleman passing information and rendering essential services to both sides so customers don't need to talk to suppliers.

Difference between Alibaba and AliExpress

Do you know the difference between Alibaba and AliExpress? Do you use the names interchangeably or assign the wrong name to the wrong owner? Alibaba and AliExpress are both owned by the Alibaba Group, which is owned by Chinese business magnate Jack Ma. The difference between the two is in their business orientation.

Alibaba is the leading platform for global wholesale trade, serving millions of buyers and suppliers around the world. Most members on Alibaba are manufacturers, trading companies or resellers who trade in large order quantities.

In contrast, AliExpress is a global retail marketplace offering quality products at factory prices in small quantities. Customers can order as little as one item, and can pay safely using the Buyer Protection service.

Guide to Buying on Aliexpress

    1. Identifying good sellers.
I dentifying good sellers on AliExpress can be a challenging. There are hundreds of sellers on the platform offering similar products, and it's not always easy to distinguish between them. Every product page includes the name of the seller, —the store that provides the products. In order to identify good, reliable sellers, buyers can read recommendations and feedback from previous customers, regarding both the seller and the specific product. Good sellers usually have the best-quality goods. The better the feedback and the more orders the seller has, the better chance the buyer has of being satisfied with their purchase.
    2. Use established sellers.
Established sellers are a safer bet than new ones. Established sellers have a reputation to protect and will likely not ship faulty and low quality goods. They also have the market experience and know how best to satisfy consumers.
    3. Read product descriptions carefully. It is important to read the product description carefully. It might be a long read, but customers should read meticulously because the description includes facts about the product that are important to know before ordering.
    4. Check seller warranties.
Does your seller offer warranties? Which seller of the product you want to buy offers the best warranty? Warranties are the closest thing to trust in the online market.
    5. Distinguishing counterfeit products from real products. How do you distinguish between counterfeit and real products? Like with any other website, type a keyword in the search box. To narrow down the search results, choose to be shown only products with 4+ stars rating. After that, you can choose any criteria that meet your specific needs, such as price range and free shipping. This significantly decreases the number of products displayed and increases the chance of finding real products on AliExpress.
    6. What can I buy on AliExpress?

The answer is almost anything. The products on the website are divided into 13 major categories such as Cellphones & AccessoriesBeauty & HealthWomen's ClothingConsumer Electronics and so on. So whether you're a Gadget Freak or a Fashionista, finding amazing products on AliExpress is simple: Just click on your favorite category or type a key word in the search bar at the top of the page, and you' ll receive hundreds, or even thousands of results. The AliE xpress mobile application also has a feature that allows users to search by image. Simply upload the image of the product you want, and AliE xpress will find similar products.

We recommend customers follow the size chart on each product's page in order to minimize the need to return or exchange the product. Be aware of the fact that the standard Chinese size is very different than the European one. Chinese sizes are considerably smaller!

      Using Cashback

Did you know that you can save money while shopping on AliExpress? Meet Cashback.co.il. How does it work? Cashback gets paid a commission by the hundreds of stores appearing on the website and pay that money right back to you after your purchase!

Cashback will refund money right back to your Paypal or bank account.

      Are AliExpress products genuine?

In the past, AliExpress was notorious for having low quality or fake products on the website. In recent years , the company has made a great effort to improve the quality of the products by removing counterfeit products and collaborating with popular brands such as NikeAdidasXiaomi, New Balance, SamsungHuawei etc...

      Shopping festivals on AliExpress

You don't want to miss out on huge sales and events happening at AliExpress! The main event of the year happens on November 11th - Singles' Day. AliExpress also celebrates its anniversary every March 28, and lots of participating sellers offer huge discounts. Aside from these two events, AliExpress also hosts various events like Black Friday (23.11), Cyber Monday (26.11), Christmas, New Year's Eve, Chinese New Year Sale, etc. During these special sales, AliExpress offers up to 80% off thousands of amazing products.

      Combine shipping

Every merchant notifies the buyer about the product's estimated arrival date. Since most of the products are sent without a shipping fee, we recommend combining shipping of multiple orders with similar arrival dates.

One merchant at a time - Another way to get faster delivery is by ordering the desired products from the same seller.

AliE xpress Facebook groups - We recommend joining official and private Facebook groups dedicated to finding excellent products on AliE xpress. You will find plenty of recommendations for amazing products in these groups. Be careful, though; some of the links being shared on those groups come from people who receive commissions from Aliexpress. So before you make a purchase be sure to check the product's and the seller's feedback score.

My delivery hasn't arrived! What should I do?

Open a dispute - This action allows the buyer to report dissatisfaction about the product, the seller or the purchase process in general. For example, you have the option to open a dispute for overdue shipments, faulty products or if the product you've received isn't similar to the description in the seller page.

See you tomorrow
