Get to Heaven Keep the Seven

Everybody wants spirituality. To be a good person means to walk in G-d's ways. How does that translate to reality? The only guidebook to spirituality that has stood the test of time is the Hebrew Bible. The Bible says that the Jews will be a light onto the nations. But if you are not a born Jew, you have to convert, which is not so easy!! If you do convert, it is a lot of work to be a Jew (three times a day prayer, keeping kosher, observing the Sabbath).

This blog will show you how to be Jewish without the work!!

The Perfect storm created the new race riots in America

Whose bright idea was it shut down our economy, to begin with?
This isn't rocket science.  You shut down a 22 trillion dollar economy. You wipe out thousands of businesses.  You throw over 40 million people out of work.  You confine people to their homes and put them under virtual house arrest.  You deny folks the ability to travel, the ability to eat out, to go to a movie, to go to a sporting event, a bar, a casino, or a nightclub. You won't even allow folks to get their haircut for crying out loud.
The government has succeeded in turning nearly all of our cities into boiling cauldrons with no healthy outlets.  Not to mention millions and millions of unemployed people who cannot provide basic necessities for their families. Millions are now facing poverty and homelessness as a result of these totally insane policies put into place to fight the virus.

A perfect storm has been created and all it took was the incident in Minneapolis to ignite this mess.

Whoever thought of the idea of shutting down our economy should be summarily marched in front of a firing squad.  We were initially told the lockdown would only last a couple of weeks. But it has lasted for months.

No time in history have the healthy been quarantined to protect them from the sick. Quarantines are of the sick, not of the healthy. It was and is Insane. If one thing doesn't work, you don't stop the 99% that works, you throw out the 1%.  Lockdowns reverse this process.

This whole disaster was totally preventable and will go down as the greatest blunders in our nation's history.

The Book of Ruth and the Coronavirus

The Book of Ruth is an Old Testament book belonging to the third section of the biblical canon the Tanach, known as the Ketuvim, or Writings. ... The book is named for its central character, a Moabite woman who married the son of a Judaean couple living in Moab.

The Book of Ruth is one of only two books of the bible to be named after women (the other is Esther). Even though it's small, this remarkable book contains many principles with a profound impact on our lives today.

In the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) Ruth stands with the Song of Solomon, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, and Esther; together they make up the Megillot, five scrolls that are read at prescribed times on Jewish religious festivals.  Ruth was the festival scroll that we had for Shavout, the Feast of Weeks, 50 days after Passover.

One of the most inspiring messages of the book of Ruth is that a person who displays selfless compassion will be rewarded in the end. At the beginning of the book, readers are introduced to Naomi and her two daughters-in-law, Ruth and Orpah.

Ruth, a woman who after being widowed remains with her husband's mother. ... Where you die, I will die—there will I be buried." Ruth accompanies Naomi to Bethlehem and later marries Boaz, a distant relative of her late father-in-law. She is a symbol of abiding loyalty and devotion

Here is a quick synopsis of the Book of Ruth. To start out, a woman by the name of Naomi packed up and moved from Judah to Moab due to a terrible famine that was affecting her family. She and her husband moved there with their two sons, who eventually took wives (Ruth and Opah) while living in Moab.

Tragically, Naomi lost her husband and two sons. Broken and empty, Naomi decided to move back to Bethlehem in Judah. Her daughter-in-law Ruth came with her since she had also lost her husband. Keep in mind that Ruth was a Moabite woman, and she was now moving to Judah as a foreigner. This was a big deal in their culture, but she was committed to Naomi as her daughter-in-law, and she wanted to follow after the G-d of Israel. Ruth steadfastly stayed with her Mother-in-law and uttered her famous words that she would stick with Naomi through thick and thin. Her sister-in-law left and according to tradition became the Great grandmother of Goliath who King David later kills.

While in Judah, G-d worked out an amazing plan for a man named Boaz to take Ruth as his wife, give her a child, and provide for her and Naomi. What's remarkable about this plan was that Boaz was qualified as a "kinsman-redeemer" to take her as his wife.

What in the world is a "kinsman-redeemer" you may ask? Well, they had a custom in those days, based upon Deuteronomy  25-6 that directed that a relative of a man who dies should marry that man's widow in order to perpetuate his lineage through this woman.

According to G-d's remarkable sovereignty, it turned out that Boaz was a relative to Ruth's husband who had passed away; so, he was qualified to marry her and perpetuate his lineage. So, even in the midst of Ruth and Naomi's awful affliction, God still had a plan to take care of them. Pretty cool, right?

There  are  important applications that jump out:

    1)  God is concerned about all people regardless of race, nationality, or status.

Ruth was not a Jew. She was a Moabite. Even though many discriminated against her, G-d loved her just the same. G-d does not discriminate, and He/She loves all people just the same.

    2)  Men and women are both equally important to G-d.

G-d cares about men and women all the same. We are all one in His eyes. While most false religions that have been constructed over the centuries often elevate men and dishonor women, Judaism is the one religion that consistently honors men and women at the same level. There is no difference in His eyes.

    3)  There is no such thing as an unimportant person in G-d's eyes.

At a surface level, few saw Ruth as an important person. She was from Moab, which was a nation that originated from an incestuous encounter between Lot and one of his daughters (see  Genesis 19:30-36). She was a poor widow. She was living in a foreign land away from her birth family.

But G-d saw her as important and His plan for her life culminated in her becoming a part of the lineage of King David (as the great-great-grandmother to King David). G-d's plan typically involves using people who are considered to be underdogs or unimportant or unimpressive from man's perspective. His strength is made perfect in our weakness

    4)  G-d uses "little" things to accomplish great plans.

What an amazing plan G-d had for a series of "little" things that all added up to important pieces in G-d's big plan. God intended for Ruth to be a part of the story of the lineage of King David. So, He pulled together events such as the famine, Naomi's relocation to Moab, their return to Bethlehem, Boaz's bloodline, and many other events just to ensure that Ruth could be a part of His plan. The other book named after a woman, Esther, has many similar little things that add up to big things. And G-d does that same thing in our lives today! All the events of the CoronaVirus are part of his/her plan

The Left Lied About Me – Again By Dennis Prager

Three years ago, I wrote a column explaining left-right differences in 35 different subjects. Anyone or two of them would make for a major political/cultural divide. Thirty-five make the divide unbridgeable.

What's difficult to explain are the roots of this divide. I believe it is a commitment to truth. Since I began studying the left as a graduate student of communism at the Russian Institute of the Columbia School of International Affairs, of one thing I have been certain: Truth is not a left-wing value.

It is a liberal value, and it is a conservative value, but truth has never been a left-wing value. From Lenin to today's left, lying – especially about opponents – is morally acceptable as long as it serves the left's goals of defeating opponents and attaining more power. Once you realize this, the divide becomes explicable.

Why has YouTube taken down the video of two emergency room physicians who argue that the lockdown may not be called for? Because the left has no interest in truth. It does not argue with opponents; it shuts them down.

That's why the left is pressuring YouTube and Facebook to prohibit anything it differs with from appearing on their platforms. Just as the Soviets labeled everything in the Western press "imperialist propaganda," the left labels everything with which it differs "misinformation."

That's also why virtually every university does whatever it can to prevent conservatives from speaking on their campuses.

Why has The New York Times just received a Pulitzer Prize for what leading liberal historians have labeled its "mendacious" rewriting of American history, known as "The 1619 Project"? Because to The New York Times and the Pulitzer Prize committee, truth is less important than smearing America.

When it cannot stifle opponents, the left smears them. Every prominent conservative or liberal opponent of the left has been smeared – which is just another way of saying "lied about" – as being sexist, intolerant, xenophobic, homophobic, Islamophobic, racist, bigoted, misogynistic, transphobic, etc.

Allow me to use an example I know well: me.

In the span of just this past year, Newsweek lied, claiming I "mocked" Anne Frank (to Newsweek's credit, it revised its column and published a corrected headline), and Purdue University's "vice provost of diversity and inclusion" claimed I said, "Slavery was not bad" in a speech I gave at Purdue.

I sent this person a recording of my speech proving I never said anything remotely like what he charged. After many of my listeners and readers protested to the vice provost and Purdue's president, the vice provost wrote me a private letter saying he was sorry if he "misunderstood" me. His charge was public; his apology was private.

This past week, as pure a lie as the previous two was manufactured by Media Matters – a left-wing organization whose sole purpose is lying and smearing conservatives – and then picked up by various media.

This is what I said – word for word – on my radio show: "How many names have blacks gone through in my lifetime? 'Colored,' 'Negro,' 'African American,' 'black.' That's four different titles for the same human being. What was wrong with 'Negro'? What was wrong with 'colored'? There's no problem with any of them.

"Do you know that the NAACP is still the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People? And then 'African American' – that changed, too. Does it have a dash or hyphen, or not? I don't remember what was connoted by having a hyphen or not."

Media Matters declared the comments "racist." And the allegation was dutifully picked up by the New York Daily News, which ran this headline: "Conservative Talk-Radio Host Dennis Prager Bemoans Loss of Racial Slurs, Gets History Lesson." And by the Daily Mail, which ran this headline: "Conservative Talk-Radio Host Dennis Prager, 71, Bemoans the Loss of Racial Slurs in Society to Describe Black People."

The article, by Daily Mail writer James Gordon, a Media Matters follower (he actually appended a link to Media Matters at the end of his column), claimed: "Prager…used his show to bemoan society no longer using racist language coined during eras of slavery and segregation."

Everything about these articles is a lie. Not one of those titles for blacks is racist. Therefore, I could not possibly "bemoan" the fact that society no longer uses these words.

The term Martin Luther King Jr., every other black leader and every non-black anti-racist through the 1960s used to described black people was "Negro." There is, to this day, a major black organization called the United Negro College Fund. A variant of the term "colored" is regularly used by liberals to this day – "people of color" – to describe non-whites.

"Black" is used by everyone, including most blacks. And "African American" is not only not a "racist slur"; it is also the contemporary left's preferred term for blacks.

Media Matters created a lie out of whole cloth about me. And those who rely on Media Matters – such as James Gordon at the Daily Mail and Nancy Dillon at the Daily News – repeated it, word for word. I invite both of them to come on my radio show to defend the accuracy of their articles.

For the record, my view on race is taken from Viktor Frankl. There are only two races: the decent and the indecent.

If you wish to send either or both of these writers this column and/or your own thoughts, I can only tell you that your letters to Newsweek and Purdue cases were immensely helpful. We need to fight back.

Let's put things in "Perspective"

>>
>>   We probably all think that it's a mess out there now. Hard to discern between what's a real threat and what is just simple panic and hysteria.
>>
>>    For a small amount of perspective at this moment, imagine you were born in 1900.  Many would think that that was a pretty simple time of life. Then on your 14th birthday, World War I starts, and ends on your 18th birthday. 22 million people perish in that war, including many of your friends who volunteered to defend freedom in Europe.
>>
>>    Later in the year, a Spanish Flu epidemic hits the planet and runs until your 20th birthday. 50 million people die from it in those two years. Yes, 50 million.
>>
>>    On your 29th birthday, the Great Depression begins. Unemployment hits 25%, the World GDP drops 27%. That runs until you are 33. The country nearly collapses along with the world economy. If you were lucky, you had a job that paid $300 a year, a dollar a day.
>>
>>    When you turn 39, World War II starts. You aren't even over the hill yet. And don't try to catch your breath.  If you lived in London England or most of continental Europe,  bombing of your neighbourhood, or invasion of your country by foreign soldiers along with their tank and artillery was a daily event. Thousands of Canadian young men joined the army to defend liberty with their lives.     Between your 39th and 45th birthday, 75 million people perish in the war.
>>
>>    At 50, the Korean War starts. 5 million perish.
>>
>>   At 55 the Vietnam War begins and doesn't end for 20 years. 4 million people perish in that conflict.
>>
>>   On your 62nd birthday there is the Cuban Missile Crisis, a tipping point in the Cold War. Life on our planet, as we know it, could have ended.  Sensible leaders prevented that from happening.
>>
>>   Now, in 2020, we have the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands have died;  it feels pretty dangerous; and it is!
>>
>>    Now think of everyone on the planet born in 1900. How do you survive all of that?  When you were a kid in 1965 and didn't think your 85 year old grandparent understood how hard school was. And how mean that kid in your class was. Yet they survived through everything listed above.
>>
>>   Perspective is an amazing art. Refined as time goes on, and very very enlightening.
>>
>>   So let's try and keep things in perspective.  Let's be smart, we are all in this together.   Let's help each other out, and we will get through all of this.

Los Angeles Will "Never Be Completely Open Until We Have a Cure." | Frontpagemag

Alternative headline. Mayor of one of nation's largest cities makes shutdown permanent.

In an interview about L.A.'s coronavirus efforts on Good Morning America on Wednesday, the mayor asserted that the city will "never be completely open until we have a cure."

There's no cure or likely to be one. Ever. So this lockdown is permanent now?

Mayor Garcetti decided to roll out an order mandating that everyone wear face masks outside, despite the complete lack of science behind it, even as 80 and 90 degree temperatures roll in.

But wait, he doesn't want to run a police state.

"I don't want to turn Los Angeles into some sort of police state," Garcetti said.

But you know, sometimes slavery is freedom.

"Bring you mask with whenever you leave your home," Garcetti said. "That will help us get more freedoms."

Give up your freedom. That will help you get more freedoms.

"This isn't about government doing something to us," said the mayor. "This is about collective decisions."

Which collective is making these decisions? When do people or you know, the Bill of Rights, get a say in this?

But, to paraphrase Barry, "Government is just another word for collectives making decisions for us. Like ordering us to wear masks forever."

At the end of his prepared remarks, the mayor tried to return to an upbeat tone. "As always," he said, "I send you light and love from the bottom of my heart."

And magic auras. There's only one way this post can end.

Two  Shabbat ago we  read the first Torah portion of the Book of Numbers במדבר - B'midbar (in the desert).

This Torah portion opens with the verse:

וַיְדַבֵּר ה' אֶל מֹשֶׁה בְּמִדְבַּר סִינַי

"God spoke to Moses in the Sinai Desert…" (Numbers 1:1)

The Midrash questions:

Why is it so important for the Torah to specify the location in which God spoke to Moses?

According to the Midrash, our Sages derive from this detail that three key elements were present when the Torah was given:

אש - AISH -  fire

מים - MAYIM- water

מדבר - MIDBAR- desert

The Midrash comments:

With three elements was the Torah given – with fire, with water and the desert…

  • Fire is mentioned in the verse, "All of Mount Sinai was smoking because God descended upon it in fire" (Exodus 19:18).
  • Water is mentioned in the verse, "The heavens dripped with water" (Judges 5:4), which describes the giving of the Torah.
  • And we learn about the desert from the phrase "in the Sinai desert" in this week's portion.

What significance to these three elements have, that the Midrash is dwelling upon?

The answer is:

Just as these three elements are given for free to everyone, so too Torah is given for free.

The Sages teach us also that these three elements are the keys indicating how a person needs to act in his life.

Key #1 - Fire – symbolizes enthusiasm in the heart.

Key #2 Water – symbolizes clarity of thought.

Key #3 Desert – symbolizes modesty and contentment with "little".

Torah portion B'midbar is read right before the holiday of Shavuot.

And on Shavuot, we do not simply commemorate the original acceptance of Torah thousands of years ago, we actually accept the Torah upon ourselves anew.

In order to prepare ourselves to receive Torah on this day now, the Torah portion B'midbar gives us the Three Keys that will enable us to succeed in understanding the Torah and its  contemporary meaning.

See you tomorrow bli neder We need Moshiach now!

Jerusalem, The Center of the World

Jerusalem, The Center of the World

For the sake of Zion, I will not be silent, and for the sake of Jerusalem I will not rest until her righteousness comes out like brilliance, and her salvation burns like a torch. (Isaiah 62)

On Friday (May 22, 2020 - 28 Iyar, 5780) we celebrated Yom Yerushalayim - Jerusalem Day.

On this day we marked Israel's greatest victory in modern history.

Who would have believed our report, and to who was the arm of the Lord revealed? (Isaiah 53)

We are praising Hashem. It will be 53 years since God miraculously enabled Israel - with a population of a mere 2.5 million at the time - to survive what seemed to be close to another holocaust, as 200 million Arabs from the 6 countries surrounding us threatened to wipe us off the face of the Earth.

With the help of Hashem, in just six days we overcame all our enemies, liberated the Biblical heartland of Israel including Judea, Samaria, Golan Heights, redeemed and reunited ancient Jerusalem and the Temple Mount once again after 2,000 years of exile.

Since the Temple Mount is the place God chose as the closest place on earth to his presence - Israel's liberating the Temple Mount is a victory for all believers around the world - regardless of their nationality or religion.

Jerusalem is the foundation of faith!

We still remember with tears the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel by the President of the USA just two years ago.

And nations shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory, and you shall be called a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall pronounce. (Isaiah 62)

God ordained Jerusalem to be the world capital of prayer, His Word, Bible-study, and holiness.

As such - this is just as much a joyous occasion for all of humanity.

And you shall be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord and a kingly diadem in the hand of your God. (Isaiah 62)

On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; all day and all night, they shall never be silent; those who remind the Lord, be not silent. And give Him no rest, until He establishes and until He makes Jerusalem a praise in the land. (Isaiah 62)

A world center of spiritualism, shining its light to the rest of the world, with the Mount at its center becoming a House of Prayer for ALL Nations.

The special holiness of Jerusalem stems from its being "the site that God will choose" (Deuteronomy 12:5), the city where God decided to establish His House, the Temple, so that His Presence should dwell there. This connection between God and the city of Jerusalem is found not just in Heavenly Jerusalem, in the spiritual part of the city, but also in earthly Jerusalem, the city as we know it.

The Holy of Holies is the center of this world. In the Holy of Holies lies the foundation stone, from which the universe was founded.

The contact between heaven and earth is expressed in its most radical form in the Temple's holiest place – the Holy of Holies. The Holy of Holies, as described by our Sages, is unlike any other space known to man. "The place of the ark and the cherubim is not included in the measured space." – the ark and cherubim occupy no space in the chamber (Bava Batra 99a). On every side, space remains as though nothing were placed in the center.

The Holy of Holies is the center of this world. In the Holy of Holies lies the foundation stone, from which the universe was founded (Yoma 54b). According to the Midrash, this site is the source of the dust from which Adam was formed (The Midrash on Psalms 92). This site may be likened to the world's "umbilical cord" – the point of connection to the Creator, the foundation and basis for all that was created in the wake of this single point. The Holy of Holies marks the central point of contact, which is ringed by the Temple Mount, the entire city, and finally all of the Land of Israel – all concentrated around the single point, around the place where the heavenly world and the earthly world touch.

There are various central places throughout the world. There is a place that is the earth's magnetic pole, and another place that is the earth's geographic pole. These places are extraordinary and are marked by unusual phenomena: The compass goes haywire, and day and night are confused. They are exceptions to geography. Jerusalem, too, is such an extraordinary place, as it is a place where this world and the supernal world intermingle.

Jerusalem lies at the margin of the material and the physical, on the edge of the nonphysical world.

Jerusalem lies at the margin of the material and the physical, on the edge of the nonphysical world. In Pirkei Avot we are told of the miracles that occurred in the Temple – the sacred flesh never spoiled; no-fly was ever seen in the slaughterhouse, and though the people stood pressed together, they bowed with ample space. We also learn of miracles that occurred in the city itself – neither serpent nor scorpion caused harm in Jerusalem, and so forth (Avot 5:5). The contact with the holy brings about a change in the laws of nature even in the outer circle of the entire city.

Our Sages call Jerusalem "the pupil of the eye" (Kings I, 9:3). In fact, the eye is the only part of the body in which the nerve is connected directly to the brain. Outside impressions perceived by other parts of the body are filtered and processed, from the outside reach inside. In other parts of the body, the impressions are filtered and processed, but in the case of the eye, they enter directly, as they are. Jerusalem is an opening of this kind, a direct passage between the earthly world and the heavenly world. It is a gateway to heaven, a passageway from the physical to the spiritual. For this reason, we pray in the direction of Jerusalem, as it says in Solomon's prayer: "And they pray to You in the direction of their land which You gave to their forefathers, the city which You have chosen, and the House which I have built to Your Name"( Kings I, 8:48). Prayers are directed toward Jerusalem, via which they ascend heavenward.

Jerusalem is an opening...a direct passage between the earthly world and the heavenly world. It is a gateway to heaven, a passageway from the physical to the spiritual.

Because the pupil forms the link between the brain and the external world; hence, it must be guarded to the utmost. Likewise, Jerusalem is the most sensitive place in the world. When someone smites Jerusalem, the eye of the universe, it is as painful and dangerous as any blow to the physical eye. More than what happens anywhere else, things that happen in Jerusalem are liable to have implications for the whole world.

The connection to the supernal worlds produces a flow of holiness through the Holy of Holies, Temple, and Temple Mount to the entire city – not just to the exalted things in the city but to all its physical parts: its houses, its stones, even its thorns, and all who dwell in it, great and small. The stones of Jerusalem are different; its thorns are all of gold.

Jerusalem is "the city perfect in beauty" – more beautiful than many cities in the world. But the city's beauty does not stem from handsome buildings or lovely external design. As a rule, the opposite is true. Jerusalem's beauty, its sun and light and other beautiful things with which it is endowed, stem from its inwardness, from its holiness. The surplus of Jerusalem's inwardness, the drops that overflow from its holiness, are what make it beautiful and give it grace.

When something is truly beautiful; its flaws do not detract from its great beauty; on the contrary, they give it added grace.

It does not matter whether the architecture of Jerusalem is extraordinarily beautiful or not. When one looks at the city as a whole, there is nothing more beautiful than it. When something is truly beautiful; its flaws do not detract from its great beauty; on the contrary, they give it added grace. Thus, even the things that are not beautiful about it join in forming Jerusalem; every part, every corner, and every crumb are there in order to add beauty.

The importance of Jerusalem Day far exceeds the commemoration of the day on which the city was liberated from foreign rule. This day's eminence is found in that it is celebrated in honor of this unique city, "a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys" (Song of Songs 2:1). It is a day that does not relate specifically to the destruction or rebuilding of Jerusalem, to its distress, or to its beauty. Rather, it is a day of thanksgiving and joy over the city's very existence, joy over the fact we have merited to have in our

The Prophet Isaiah prophesied: "Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her! Join in her jubilation, all you who mourned over her" (Isaiah 66:10). One should mourn over Jerusalem, but one should also be among those who love her. One should love not only her holy places but also the city in its own right, One must love Jerusalem not just because it is home, but because there is no other place like it. For all these reasons, we hold a celebration, in honor of Jerusalem – earthly Jerusalem and Heavenly Jerusalem.

Israel's tourist industry hopes for border relaxation in July

25 May, 2020 18:26 Michal Raz-Chaimovich In the first stage, international travel will likely be permitted through bilateral agreements with countries like Cyprus, where Covid-19 morbidity was low.

Israel's aviation and tourism sector is ready to go as the coronavirus fades but is plagued by uncertainty. There is little to discuss regarding international tourism (Israelis traveling abroad and foreigners coming into Israel) while the Ministry of Health sticks to its ban on non-Israeli passport holders coming into the country and insisting on Israelis returning from abroad going into 14-days self-isolations.

The regulations are in force until June 15 and sources believe they will be extended at least into early July with in the first stage international travel being permitted between Israel and a list of selected countries where Covid-19 morbidity was low.

This 'green list' is likely to include Israel's neighbors Greece and Cyprus as well as Slovenia, Montenegro, Serbia and the Seychelles among others. Countries on the 'green' list will only include places that still bar tourists from 'red' countries like the US, to reduce the danger of Israeli tourists being infected while abroad.

Bilateral agreements with these countries may not do much in terms of bringing foreign tourists to Israel but it will offer Israelis an opportunity to vacation abroad, likely from about July 9, when the extended school year is expected to end.

Cyprus already announced unilaterally last week that it was opening its borders to Israelis.

Whatever happens Ben Gurion airport is already getting ready with stricter safety and security measures. Travelers will be required to reach the airport four hours before their flights and will not even be admitted to the airport terminal, where temperatures will be taken, let alone board a flight, if they have a fever. Lines for security checks will be well spaced out and passengers must wear masks at all times. Services on aircraft will be minimal.

El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (TASE: ELAL) has no plans to fly before the end of June and the only airline to have resumed flights to Israel is Wizz Air. The low cost Hungarian airline is currently operating scheduled flights between Tel Aviv and London, Sofia and Budapest.

ISSTA Lines (TASE: ISTA) and Fattal Holdings (1998) Ltd. (TASE:FTAL) are already offering packages for the hotels they own in Paphos, Cyprus starting July 1 dependent on the Ministry of Health relaxing compulsory self-isolation on return and with cancellation options until a few days before the vacation.

DC Accidentally Makes Batman Jewish

Since Batman's introduction in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939, his alter ego Bruce Wayne has been depicted as ethnically and culturally white. As public perception of the character has changed over the years, his privilege as a white male in the 1 percent has become a point of criticism. Bruce Wayne is rich enough to dress up as a bat and run around Gotham beating up criminals and get away with it. However, although Bruc is definitely the poster boy for privilege, he's not conventionally white: He's Jewish.

This wasn't always a part of his background, but rather was an unintended retcon that came with the introduction of the new Batwoman in 2006. This iteration is Kate Kane, socialite, soldier, and also Bruce's cousin. They are related through her father, Jacob Kane, the brother of Martha Wayne. Before marrying Thomas Wayne, her maiden name was established as Kane as a nod to Batman co-creator Bob Kane.

6-year-old discovers 3,500-year-old Canaanite tablet on a hike

6-year-old discovers 3,500-year-old Canaanite tablet on a hike

A family outing near the Gaza border became a treasure hunt when a priceless tiny Canaanite clay impression caught the eye of Imri Elya, depicting a victor holding his foe as a prisoner; he has since received a certificate of good citizenshipi24NEWS | Published: 05.26.20 , 08:28 A six-year-old boy made the discovery of a lifetime after unearthing a rare artifact thought to be more than 3,500 years old, in southern Israel.

Last March, while touring the northern Negev archaeological site of Kibbutz Re'im in Tel Jemmeh, Imri Elya stumbled upon a small, square clay object with two figures engraved on it.The tablet (Photo: Israel Antiquities Authority )Curious about the small discovery, Elya's parents decided to send it to the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) and the National Treasures Department to get more answers. AdvertisementAfter examining the artifact, archaeologists were surprised to find out it was a unique and rare find that had not been uncovered until today in any other archaeological excavations in Israel.Elya received a certificate of good citizenship as a result of his discovery. Imri Elya with his good citizenship certificate and the tablet (Photo: Israel Antiquities Authority )According to the IAA, the object is a clay tablet depicting a captor leading a naked and humiliated prisoner, dated to the Late Bronze Age between the 12th and 15th centuries BCE.Archaeologists note that during this period, the Egyptian Empire ruled Canaan. The latter was divided into "city-states" ruled by local kings. From letters sent by Canaanite kings of that period to Egypt (known as the El Amarna letters), it is known that internal struggles and control conflicts existed between Canaanite cities.Tel Jemmeh (Photo: Vladik Lipshitz )Advertisement"The scene depicted on the tablet is taken from descriptions of victory parades; hence the tablet should be identified as a story depicting the ruler's power over his enemies," said the researches. "This opens a visual window to understanding the struggle for dominance in the south of the country during the Canaanite period," the IAA added in a statement. "Antiquities are our cultural heritage, and each find adds to the entire puzzle of the story of the Land," said Pablo Betzer, an archaeologist from the Southern District of the Israel Antiquities Authority."There is great importance in turning archaeological findings over to the National Treasures Department to be researched and displayed for the entire public to enjoy. The delivery of the tablet to the Antiquities Authority indicates value education and good citizenship on the part of Imri and his parents."
