Get to Heaven Keep the Seven

Everybody wants spirituality. To be a good person means to walk in G-d's ways. How does that translate to reality? The only guidebook to spirituality that has stood the test of time is the Hebrew Bible. The Bible says that the Jews will be a light onto the nations. But if you are not a born Jew, you have to convert, which is not so easy!! If you do convert, it is a lot of work to be a Jew (three times a day prayer, keeping kosher, observing the Sabbath).

This blog will show you how to be Jewish without the work!!

Doctors prefer Camels (1953)--think about this when your Dr. speaks

Rabbi Yehuda Lave

Your Weakness can be Your Strength

The highest level of being slow to anger is when a person's intellect is the master of his emotions. Such a person has his emotions work for him according to the dictates of morality.

A person who has a naturally cold personality or lack of tendency towards anger has not reached the level of the person who has a natural tendency to become angry, but has control over his temper.

Gold Medal Jewish Gymnast Aly Raisman Pays Tribute to Munich 11

As if playing "Hava Nagila" during her gold-winning floor exercise was not enough, the 18-year-old Jewish heroine decides to pay a tribute to the 11 Israeli athletes killed in the 1972 Munich Olympic Games.

having the chutzpah to face the world and do what needed to be done and say what needed to be said.

At the same Olympic Games where bigoted organizers stubbornly refuse to honor the slain athletes with a moment of silence, 18-year-old Raisman loudly shocked observers first by winning, then by paying her own tribute to 11 sportsmen who died long before she was born.

And if that weren't enough, she won her event with the Hebrew folk song "Hava Nagila" playing in the background.

"Having that floor music wasn't intentional," an emotional but poised Raisman told reporters after her performance.

"But the fact it was on the 40th anniversary is special, and winning the gold today means a lot to me."

Then Raisman stuck the landing.

"If there had been a moment's silence," the 18-year-old woman told the world, "I would have supported it and respected it."

It was 40 years ago at the 1972 Munich Games that members of the Israeli Olympic delegation were taken hostage and eventually killed by Palestinian radicals."

The Post's Leonard Greene quoted Raisman's rabbi as praising not only his congregant's victory, but her 'mettle' in mentioning and remembering the slain Israeli Olympians in her moment of victory.

"She is a focused person," said Rabbi Keith Stern, spiritual leader of Temple Beth Avodah in Newton Centre, Mass., where the Raisman family are members.

"She's very proud and upfront about being Jewish. Neither she nor her family explicitly sought to send a message. But it shows how very integrated her Jewish heritage is in everything that she does."

Stern said he remembers picking up young Aly from preschool, and never imagined she'd be some sort of megastar.

He described the US team captain as a big sister-type who is a mother hen to all her younger siblings.

"I can't wait to have her at the temple to talk about her experience," he said.

"I know her sister's bat mitzvah is coming up, so maybe I'll catch up with her then."

But as she celebrates her Olympic triumph, Raisman's mind is not focused on solemn thoughts. Like all of the teenage gymnasts, she is reveling in the attention of pop idols, and has been tweeting back and forth with famous actors and rappers.

There has been no word on how Raisman's parents have reacted to her victorious moment, but hopefully, the famously stressed-out duo can relax.

Why Trump deserves your Jewish Vote

This piece was written by Jews Choose Trump members Carol Greenwald, Richard Allen, Eve Stieglitz and Louis Sokol. Greenwald is the president of Potomac Investment Co., a financial advisory firm. Allen is the founder of JCCWatch.org. Stieglitz is the Jewish advisor for women on the National Diversity Coalition for Trump. Sokol is an Internet marketing consultant and entrepreneur in Sugar Land, Texas, a suburb of Houston.

We are convinced Donald Trump is the right candidate to choose in this presidential election for two reasons. Those reasons are Iran and Israel.

Iran - the primary financial supporter of global terrorism - poses an existential danger to Western values, culture and life. Israel opposes that mortal threat to Jews and the West. And it is the sanctuary of the Jewish people.

JewsChooseTrump.org is not seeking to persuade those who scoff at the danger of the first and at the importance of the second. Their priorities and values lead them in a different direction.

But for those who abhor the values and violence of the Islamic Republic of Iran and who cherish the Jewish State, we hope you'll listen.

For one brief, shining moment about a year ago, we had attained the Holy Grail (l'havdil) of modern Jewry: virtually all Jews were united in fighting to prevent approval of the "Iran Deal." We agreed then it was an existential issue.

Where did you all go?

Many American Jews now have self-inflicted amnesia about their commitment to defeating that cataclysmic deal and the rest of global Islamic terrorism, perhaps because they have regressed to other priorities, such as reproductive rights, policing, or political party purity.

But reproductive rights and every other domestic issue is controlled by either state or the federal legislatures, the president does not have exclusive control over them, as is the case with foreign policy, as enshrined in our Constitution.

So here are two stark choices. One, presidential candidate Donald J. Trump, who has consistently opposed the Iran Deal and who has pledged to do everything in his power to overturn it. And then there is Hillary Clinton, who started rolling the negotiations for the Iran Deal and who slapped AIPAC with her claim that the Iran Deal "has made the world safer." Whom will you choose?

If, like us, you still believe the Iran Deal is catastrophic and the United States must do all we can to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, the only choice is to vote for Trump.

The second reason we founded www.JewsChooseTrump.org is because the security of Israel and of all Israelis is one of our highest priorities. If Israel is vitally important to you, your choice is clear: Donald Trump.

True, early on Trump claimed he could work out a deal between the Israelis and the Arabs. But he listened and learned and brought in stalwart and knowledgeable Israel advisers. Those advisers have each worked for Trump for more than a dozen years. They know the man, they trust him and he trusts them.

Trump's Israel advisers worked with legislators and advocates to write and help pass the incomparable Republican Party Platform Israel plank. That plank could not be achieved under previous party candidates; only Trump's advisers resisted the pressure of those who sought more "evenhandedness" towards the Arabs rather than recognizing and protecting the historic and legal rights of Israel.

Trump's opponent is Hillary Clinton: she of the public Suha Arafat smooch, given right after Suha lied about Israel poisoning gas to poison Arab women and children. Hillary, who bragged about her scathing verbal attack on Netanyahu for daring to approve building of homes for Jews in Jerusalem.

Hillary, for years the recipient of financial and other support from American Jews, counts among her closest advisers Huma Abedin, whose family is entrenched with the Muslim Brotherhood, and the anti-Israel Sidney Blumenthal, whose son Max's vicious anti-Israel ravings were remarked on approvingly by Hillary in those infamous secret emails.

While Donald Trump chose Mike Pence, an ardent supporter of Israel as a running mate, Hillary Clinton chose J Street's darling, Tim Kaine, who boycotted Bibi's speech to Congress. Trump committed to moving the American Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem; Hillary won't.

There are other reasons to support Trump over Clinton. His response to the Iranian threat is elemental to his clear-sightedness about the real danger facing America and the free world. He knows it is radical Islam. Clinton refuses to acknowledge that radical Islam is at war with us, she pretends these are people who need better jobs. ISIS proclaims they will be at war with us until we embrace their ideology. Trump names that truth. Clinton's refusal to see it has made the world a more dangerous place and endangers our children's future. A vote for Hillary Clinton (or refusing to vote) is to dismiss the importance of America's security.

Also frightening, and true, is that if she becomes president, Clinton will be playing to her party's Left, seeking approval from the heretofore fringe, now growing radical and anti-Israel wing of the Democratic party.

We choose Trump because we believe he will keep America, Israel and the free world safe from the dangers we face. If you agree, please join us at www.JewsChooseTrump.org.

History of Borscht Belt Hotels and Bungalow Colonies in the Catskills

Rabbi Yehuda Lave

Success In Life

We constantly need to increase our understanding that all that happens to us in life was orchestrated by the One Who directs all events, situations, and circumstances. We are the actors who perform against the background that has been set up for us.

However, unlike an actor in a major play where the entire script of what will be said and done has been written by someone else, in our lives we have total freewill to choose what we will say and what we will do. It is our choices of words and actions that will make our lives a tremendous success or not.

The criteria for success and failure has nothing to do with how eloquently we speak or how dramatically we carry out our actions. Rather, success is speaking and acting according to the will of the Almighty.

UN Blames Israel For Lousy Mobile Reception In Hamas Tunnels

UN Blames Israel For Lousy Mobile Reception In Hamas Tunnels "It would have been more humane to enable the doomed people trapped in tunnels to play, for example, Candy Crush."

Hamas terrorists infiltrate Israel through tunnels in order to stage deadly attacks

Khan Yunis, June 19 – United Nations officials issued harsh criticism of Israel today for the sorry state of wireless connectivity and reception in the tunnel Hamas uses to move men and materiel through the Gaza Strip.

UN Human Rights Council President Wai Fai of China, who holds the position on a rotational basis, called the failure of Israel to provide adequate mobile communications technology infrastructure for people moving through Hamas tunnels a violation of Palestinian rights. "We have the misfortune of being witness to yet another way in which Israel tramples the rights of Palestinians in Gaza," said Wai.

Council representatives interviewed hundreds of Hamas operatives and forced child laborers in the tunnels over the last two years since the last round of fighting between Hamas and Israel, and found that conditions in the cramped tunnels have not improved. In many cases, said delegation spokesman Mol Ratt, the lack of wireless infrastructure has cost lives when tunnels collapsed on the fighters inside them and the trapped Hamas personnel were unable to signal for help, and those who were not crushed to death immediately were also rendered unable to play online games to keep occupied as they suffocated.

"It would have been more humane to enable the doomed people trapped in those tunnels to play, for example, Candy Crush," explained Ratt. "But once again, we have gathered extensive evidence of Israel's disregard for the needs of Hamas fighters."

Even more egregiously, said Ratt, Israel collectively punishes all users of Hamas tunnels, not only the fighters who maneuver and train in them and the child laborers the organization forces to dig them. "The lack of adequate mobile communications infrastructure in the tunnels under Gaza also affects smugglers," noted Ratt. "People who want to bring in luxury goods from Egypt instead of Israel, aside from having to brave the antipathy of Egyptian military and government authorities, are consequently deprived of access to their social media and news sources while underground. This so-called 'collateral damage' is thinly and flimsily veiled underneath Israel's ostensible need to protect itself from attack."

The UN panel's criticism of Israel in this regard continues a similar rhetorical line to that adopted by Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, who visited Israel in the aftermath of the 2014 war and was guided into one of the neutralized attack tunnels by IDF representatives. At the time, Ban voiced his sympathy for those who spent time in such cramped conditions.

Fiddler on the Roof-full Stage version and other versions

Rabbi Yehuda Lave from Jerusalem
Personal Wealth Is Spiritual

Wealth and success in any area of material endeavor are not virtues that become part of a person himself. There is no intrinsic value added to a wealthy person that a poor person lacks.

People are basically the same regardless of how much or little they have. As the popular saying goes, "My wallet can be embarrassed from his wallet. But I myself will not be embarrassed from him."

Contrast this to spiritual matters, such as Torah study and doing good deeds, where the more we grow, the more we ourselves are elevated.
