Get to Heaven Keep the Seven

Everybody wants spirituality. To be a good person means to walk in G-d's ways. How does that translate to reality? The only guidebook to spirituality that has stood the test of time is the Hebrew Bible. The Bible says that the Jews will be a light onto the nations. But if you are not a born Jew, you have to convert, which is not so easy!! If you do convert, it is a lot of work to be a Jew (three times a day prayer, keeping kosher, observing the Sabbath).

This blog will show you how to be Jewish without the work!!

A true sacrifice of the lambs--a real life training for the real thing as my Passover greetings for you 2016

Rabbi Yehuda Lave

Feel Joy for the Miracle of Teshuva

God's acceptance of our commitment to correct ("teshuva") is a miracle greater than all other miracles.

The requirements of teshuva are: regret for what one has done wrong in the past, and resolve to improve in the future.

To the degree a person is aware of his wrongdoings and feels pain for what he has done, to that same degree his teshuva is of greater value. The essential thing is to feel extreme joy for the miracle of teshuva, and to praise the Almighty for this good fortune

The best way to do Teshuva is to do good deeds and study Torah. I do all of that, and I ask forgiveness for any of my past mistakes.

I also of course wish you all a meaningful Passover holiday as I spend my Third Passover in Israel as Oleh Hadash. May we blessed with the right to serve G-d in peace and Love

A true sacrifce of the lambs

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVn8ynF2XL0&feature=em-upload_owner

On a beautiful April 20, 2016 we take a trip up to the Shomrom where the ancient Samarians keep their tradition alive by sacrificing 30 sheep in their traditional garb under the way that they think it is supposed to be done accoridng to the Torah. We don't accept their interpretation, but it was facincinating nevertheless.

We watched them skin the lambs and set them up for the spit right in front of us, even getting blood on us.

We certaintly gained experience so we will be ready for the real thing on the temple mount when it happens soon.

This was the real thing as opposed the academy awards I have below from 1992 about the silence of the lambs.

Have a wonderful Passover.

Sweden's Deputy PM Calls 9/11 an 'Accident'

Is it possible any more for senior members of Sweden's Green Party to speak to the press without putting their foot in their mouth? A case in point: Deputy Prime Minister and Green Party co-leader Åsa Romson on Tuesday told a local website called, simply, The Local, that she refuses to let terror set the agenda, and then she referred to the September 11, 2001 attacks as "accidents."

The interview with The Local followed Romson's appearance on public television SVT's breakfast show "Gomorron Sverige" (Good morning Sweden — but you knew that) on Tuesday morning, where she defended her party comrade, former housing minister Mehmet Kaplan, who had been forced to resign this week for comparing Israel's treatment of the Arabs to the Nazis' treatment of Jews. Don't ask.

Romson praised Kaplan's efforts working with Muslim youth associations in Sweden, including his former role as leader of the group Sweden's Young Muslims.

"He has been chairman of Young Muslims in tough situations like the September 11th accidents," she said.

Naturally, the gaffe was received with a wild orgy of condemnations and calls for her resignation, which goes to show you that most Swedes still don't believe the Twin Towers came down due to mechanical failure in two consecutive passenger planes.

It should be noted that Romson's behavior has been kind of Aspergerish in the past, too. A short while after the terror attacks in Paris last November, where ISIS terrorists killed 130 and injured 352, Romson tweeted: "The very serious events in Paris right now can obstruct the climate change summit in December when more than 100 heads of state have planned on taking part."

And last May, she said about the situation in the Mediterranean refugee crisis: "We are turning the Mediterranean into the new Auschwitz."

Considering the fact that more than a million people, most of them Jews, were murdered in Auschwitz, the comparison, as unfortunate as the refugee crisis may be, was a bit disproportionate.

Now, there's a term a Swede can understand.

THESE are words we should be living by!!

"History often repeats itself.
On June 22 1982, Joe Biden was a Senator from Delaware and confronted then Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin during his Senate Foreign Relations committee testimony, threatening to cut off aid to Israel. Begin forcefully responded, "Don't threaten us with cutting off your aid. It will not work. I am not a Jew with trembling knees. I am a proud Jew with 3,700 years of civilized history. Nobody came to our aid when we were dying in the gas chambers and ovens. Nobody came to our aid when we were striving to create our country. We paid for it. We fought for it. We died for it. We will stand by our principles. We will defend them. And, when necessary, we will die for them again, with or without your aid."

Prayer for Eating Chametz on Passover – in Bergen Belsen 1944

BergenBelsenChametzPrayer

This crisply handwritten "Chametz on Passover Prayer" from Bergen Belsen Passover 1944 was on display at the Ghetto Fighters Museum in Tel-Aviv.

It was written or at least dictated by Rabbi Aharon Bernard Davids, leader of the Dutch community of Rotterdam in Holland, and perhaps also by Rabbi Simon Dasberg of Gronigen Holland, for their communities who had been interned first in the Westerbork Holland transit camp and then sent to Bergen Belsen concentration camp.

It translates to something like this:

Before eating Chametz say the following with intent & devotion:

Our Father in Heaven! It is known to You that we desire to fulfill Your will and observe the Passover holiday by eating Matzah and safeguarding against Chametz. But our hearts are pained at the captivity which prevents us, and we find ourselves in danger of our lives. We are hereby ready to fulfill Your commandments "And you shall live by them (the commandments)" and not die by them, and to observe the caution of "guard yourself and watch your soul/life very much." Therefore our prayer to You is that You keep us alive, and sustain us, and redeem us speedily, so that we may observe Your laws and fulfill Your will and serve You with a full heart. Amen!

And then these Jews gathered around Rabbi Davids in Bergen-Belsen and ate their meager ration of bread on the night of Passover.

This is something to think about when we are midway through Passover, in midst of all the freedom and plenty that America has to offer. This prayer and its background story offers us perspective. How we can think after a few days of a wonderful holiday that "we're sick of Matzah".

Obama Administration: Golan Heights Are Not Part of Israel

TEL AVIV – The Obama administration does not consider the Golan Heights part of Israel, U.S. State Department spokesperson John Kirby stressed Monday night, a day after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that the Golan "will forever remain under Israeli sovereignty."
"The U.S. position on the issue is unchanged," Kirby told reporters during a daily briefing at the State Department in Washington. "This position was maintained by both Democratic and Republican administrations. Those territories are not part of Israel and the status of those territories should be determined through negotiations. The current situation in Syria does not allow this," Kirby continued.

On Sunday, Netanyahu opened a meeting with the Israeli cabinet on the issue of the Golan with the declaration that "the Golan Heights will always remain under Israeli control."

expressed support for Netanyahu's comments, saying, "The government of Israel reiterated the reality that the Golan Heights are part of Israel's sovereign territory."

"Given the presence of hostile terrorist organizations ranging from ISIS to Hezbollah on Israel's northern border, it is foolhardy and dangerous for the international community to try to pressure Israel to abandon the Golan to the chaos engulfing Syria," Cruz added.

Kirby's comment followed condemnation by Germany which said the 1981 annexation of the territory was in violation of international law.

"It's a basic principle of international law and the UN charter that no state can claim the right to annex another state's territory just like that," Martin Schaefer, spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry, said Monday.

Netanyahu's declaration was denounced as an "escalation that represents a brazen violation of international law" by Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi.

Syrian President Bashar Assad, meanwhile, demanded that any future international talks will include the stipulation that the Golan Heights be considered occupied territory that must be returned to Syria.

On Thursday, Netanyahu is scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
