Get to Heaven Keep the Seven

Everybody wants spirituality. To be a good person means to walk in G-d's ways. How does that translate to reality? The only guidebook to spirituality that has stood the test of time is the Hebrew Bible. The Bible says that the Jews will be a light onto the nations. But if you are not a born Jew, you have to convert, which is not so easy!! If you do convert, it is a lot of work to be a Jew (three times a day prayer, keeping kosher, observing the Sabbath).

This blog will show you how to be Jewish without the work!!

Look into my eyes and see Love

The Joy of Good Deeds

The commandments were given for our ultimate benefit and pleasure. Therefore we should feel great joy whenever doing any good deeds.

[Think about the good deeds you currently perform with joy. Then, think about the potential joy you have not yet experienced - and how your life would be enhanced by mastering the ability to experience joy for good deeds.]

Why do we have a haggadah on pesach?

Why did pharaoh not let the Jews out of Mitzrayim?

He was still in de Nile.

A blind man is sitting on a park bench. A Rabbi sits down next to him. The Rabbi is chomping on a piece of matzoh. Taking pity on the blind man, he breaks off a piece and gives it to the blind man. Several minutes later, the blind man turns, taps the Rabbi on the shoulder and asks, "Who wrote this?!!"

A little boy once returned home from school and his father asked, "what did you learn today?"

He answered, "The Rabbi told us how Moshe led the Jews out of Mitzrayim."

"How?"

The boy said "Moshe was a big strong man and he beat Paroah up. Then while he was down, he got all the people together and ran towards the sea. When he got there, he has the Corps of Engineers build a huge pontoon bridge. Once they got on the other side, they blew up the bridge while the Mitzreim were trying to cross."

The father was shocked. "Is that what the Rabbi taught you?"

The boy replied, "No. But you'd never believe the story he DID tell us!"

Right. Those who claim to be doing the Jewish imperative of tikun olam -- rectifying the world -- usually overlook the the complete phrase is tikun olam bemalkhut Sha-dai -- rectifying the world by means of the Kingship of God. Many people and many movements have tried to fix the world according to their own imperfect understanding and history is littered with the disastrous results. Communism is only one.
Someone once asked the Lubavitcher Rebbe which is better, a bad Jew or a good goy. He said it's an invalid question. It's like asking which is better, a bad heart or a good liver.
Why were and always are a disproportionate number of Jews involved with everything from Communism, Socialism. civil rights, anti Viet Nam war, freedom to choose, gay rights, Democrats-- and every liberal cause--sometimes for better and often for worse? It is because of the very Jewish drive to "fix the world". The problem is that when disconnected from true Jewish values, the drive becomes subjective and distorted. And very surprisingly and most frequently, these same Jews are embarrassed by their own Jewishness, redefine it according to their conscience (or deny it) and TURN AGAINST THEIR OWN PEOPLE, as did the Jewish communists, civil right fighters and all the rest. This was/is true not only in Russia, the USA etc, but also in Israel. If we only knew that humanity is a macrocosm of the human body, and that the Jews were intended to function as the heart and brain, then we would be fulfilling our mission and the nations who are likened to the liver--would benefit immensely. To function as the heart and the brain is an esoteric kabbalistic concept which basically dictates that a Jew learns and keeps the Torah in Eretz Israel, builds the Beit HaMikdash in Jerusalem, and the whole creation benefits
